Prime Minister Arrives in New York

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who will begin his USA visit to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), has arrived in New York.
Following a short layover in Istanbul, a Turkish Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister, his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and their entourage landed at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York at 6:20 PM local time on Monday.
At the airport, the Prime Minister was received by Irene Zubaida Khan, Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations, and Tareq Md. Ariful Islam, Bangladesh's Ambassador to the United States.
Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, Jahidul Islam Rony, confirmed the arrival.
After airport formalities, the Prime Minister was escorted to the Hyatt Grand Central New York hotel, where he will be staying during his visit to New York.
To mark the Prime Minister's arrival, BNP leaders, activists, and expatriate Bangladeshis rallied in front of the hotel holding banners, posters, and festoons, chanting slogans to welcome him.
