Met Warns: Storm may brew in 8 regions of country by afternoon

The Meteorological Department has forecast that storms with wind speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour may hit eight regions of the country by afternoon. This information was provided by the weather forecast issued for the country's inland river ports from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Thursday.
The forecast states that over the regions of Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, and Sylhet, temporary gusty or squally winds with rain or thunderstorms may occur, blowing from the south and southeast at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour.
The Meteorological Department has asked the inland river ports in these areas to display cautionary Signal No. 1.
Earlier, in the forecast issued yesterday, it was reported that from 6:00 PM Wednesday to 6:00 PM Thursday, many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions, and some places in Rajshahi, Dhaka, and Khulna divisions, may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds. Scattered moderate to heavy rainfall may also occur across the country. The forecast also mentioned that today's daytime temperature may drop slightly, while nighttime temperatures may remain nearly unchanged.
