A low-pressure is developing over the northwestern Bay of Bengal and adjacent coastal regions which may cause incessant rainfall across various parts of the country throughout the coming week.
There is also a possibility of moderate to heavy showers in some places. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has provided this information.
Today (Saturday), meteorologist Md. Tariful Newaz Kabir said in a forecast that from tomorrow (Sunday), different divisions of the country may experience rain or thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds. Rain is likely in many places of Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions, as well as in some areas of Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, respectively.
From Monday to Wednesday, rainfall is expected to spread further across most parts of the country. During this period, moderately heavy to heavy rainfall may occur at various places. Day and night temperatures may also drop slightly.
The Meteorological Department has said that the rainfall trend may continue even after the next five days. Residents in heavy-rain-prone and low-lying areas have been advised to take necessary precautions.
