PM urges people to spend one hour a week cleaning homes and workplaces

The prime minister has urged people to spend at least one hour a week keeping their homes, educational institutions and workplaces clean.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the nationwide Dengue Prevention and Cleanliness Campaign 2026 at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Saturday morning.
Regarding the campaign, the prime minister said the government would make its utmost efforts over the next three months to tackle the dengue problem. Although a 100 percent solution is not possible, effective measures will be taken to control the situation.
“Everyone has to work together to bring change to the country. If we want to build the country together, no obstacle will be able to stop us,” the prime minister told the people.
Tarique Rahman inaugurated the nationwide campaign at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban at 9:30 am.
The next three months have been identified as a highly sensitive period for dengue prevention. The campaign will continue from September 12 to December 12.
At the opening ceremony, the prime minister urged young people to come forward to prevent dengue and build a livable country. He said young people can build a clean Bangladesh.
Urging everyone to refrain from throwing waste indiscriminately, the prime minister said every citizen has a role to play in building a clean country.
