Four individuals responsible for reviewing the question paper for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination 2026 Physics (Theoretical) First Paper (according to the 2026 syllabus) have been served show-cause notices.
The notices were issued on Tuesday and signed by Sylhet Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Controller of Examinations Professor Bilkis Yasmin.
The notice said that during Monday morning’s examination, serious errors or inconsistencies were found in Questions No. 6 and 7 of the creative section of the Physics (Theoretical) First Paper. Due to such errors or inconsistencies in the question paper, examinees had to face extreme mental pressure in the examination halls.
“As responsible teachers and reviewers, allowing such errors or inconsistencies in the question paper amounts to gross irresponsibility and negligence of professional duty. Such actions have tarnished the image of the Sylhet Board.”
The notice said that they have been asked to submit written explanations within three working days as to why departmental action should not be taken against them for such serious errors or inconsistencies in reviewing the question paper.
Those who received the show-cause notices are: Professor of Physics Md. Mujibur Rahman of Sreemangal Government College; Assistant Professor of Physics Kazi Junayed Al Amin of Brindaban Government College; Assistant Professor of Physics Mochaddek Hossain Khan of MC College; and Lecturer in Physics Mohammad Helal Uddin of Sylhet Government Model School and College.
