Abdur Rahim and Arafat arrested with cocktails from Awami League procession in Gulshan
Police have arrested two people from a flash procession by leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Five cocktails were recovered from them. The arrested individuals are Arafat (20), and Abdur Rahim (49).
Gulshan Police Station Officer in Charge Md. Daud Hossain disclosed the information Friday (September 11) afternoon.
The OC said, “At around 11:45 am today, 150 to 200 leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations gathered in an alley near KFC on Road 3 under Gulshan Police Station and attempted to hold a procession. When police tried to disperse them, cocktails were thrown by the procession participants. To bring the situation under control, police fired two rounds of rubber bullets and dispersed the procession participants.”
He said the procession lasted about 30 seconds. Legal action in connection with the incident is underway. The law-and-order situation in the Gulshan area is currently normal.
