Pickup Van Crashes into Parked Truck in Tangail, 4 Killed

Four people were killed after a pickup van carrying chickens crashed into the rear of a bamboo-laden truck parked beside the road in Sakhipur, Tangail.
The tragic accident occurred around 4:00 AM on Tuesday in the Kalia Bazar area along the Sakhipur–Sagardighi road in the upazila.
Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Md. Al Mamun of Sakhipur Police Station confirmed the incident. He said police were immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving the report.
All the deceased were passengers of the chicken-laden pickup van. However, their identities could not be confirmed immediately.
Describing the incident, ASI Md. Al Mamun said that a bamboo-loaded truck had been parked in the Kalia Ghonar Chala area of the upazila around 4:00 AM. At that time, a pickup van transporting chickens rammed into the back of the truck at high speed, killing four passengers on the spot.
He added that the bodies had been recovered and taken to Sakhipur Police Station. Efforts are currently underway to contact the victims’ families. Once family members arrive at the station, the bodies will be handed over following legal procedures.
