Storm warnings issued for Dhaka and 10 regions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said rain is likely to occur in Dhaka and a storm may hit over ten regions across the country.
According to the BMD weather forecast for the six-hour period starting at 7 am Friday, the sky may remain partly cloudy to cloudy. Rain or thundershowers are expected, winds are likely to blow from the south or south-east at a speed of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour, and daytime temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
As of 6 am, the temperature was 25.2 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 98 percent. The minimum temperature was 25.1 degrees Celsius. Dhaka has seen 8 millimeters of rainfall over the last 24 hours.
The forecast for inland river ports, valid from 5 am to 1 pm, added that temporary gusty or squally winds from the south or south-east, reaching speeds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour, may accompany rain or thundershowers over Dhaka, Faridpur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet. River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
A weather bulletin on Thursday evening said by 6 pm, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are likely in most parts of the Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.
Moreover, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in isolated areas of the Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. While daytime temperatures across the country may decrease slightly, nighttime temperatures are expected to remain relatively unchanged.
