Comfort in Reserves: Remittance Rises by 18.73 PC in Current FY

The inflow of remittance has maintained a strong trend in the country during the current fiscal year. Non-resident Bangladeshis have sent 33.74 billion US dollars into the country up to June 8 of the 2025-26 fiscal year. This is 18.73 percent higher compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.
According to the latest data released by Bangladesh Bank, a total of 33.74 billion dollars in remittance arrived in the country until June 8. During the same period in the previous fiscal year, the amount was 28.41 billion dollars.
The data further shows that on a single day, June 8, 2026, expatriates sent 107.94 million US dollars to the country through legal banking channels. This reflects the continuous contribution of migrant workers to the foreign exchange reserves.
The positive trend in remittance inflow has also continued during the first eight days of the current month of June. During this time, 979.09 million US dollars in remittance arrived in the country, which is 7.92 percent higher than the same period last year.
In the same period last year, the country's remittance inflow amounted to 907.20 million US dollars.
