Prime Minister's Political Assistant Rashed Khan has claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar held a secret meeting with a high-ranking Indian intelligence officer.
He made this claim in a post on his verified Facebook ID on Monday (October 26).
Rashed Khan claimed that the meeting was held on the evening of October 16 at a house in Baridhara in the capital. He mentioned that Jamaat Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar, Jamaat leader ATM Masum, and a total of three people participated in it.
In the Facebook post, Rashed Khan wrote, "Secret meeting of Mia Ghulam Parwar with a high-ranking Indian intelligence officer. After Maghrib on October 16, at a house in Baridhara, Jamaat Secretary General Mia Ghulam Parwar and Jamaat leader ATM Masum, along with a total of three people, participated in this meeting with a high-ranking Indian intelligence officer."
Raising questions about the reason and purpose of participating in such a meeting, Rashed Khan said, "Those who speak against India all day long—for what reason, for what interest have they participated in a secret meeting with this Indian intelligence officer? Meeting with an Indian diplomat and meeting with a high-ranking Indian intelligence officer are not the same thing."
In the post, Rashed Khan called on the Jamaat Secretary General to explain the matter of the meeting.
He said, "If Mia Ghulam Parwar practices ethical politics, I hope he will clarify this secret meeting. Otherwise, it will be assumed that Jamaat has been involved in a deep conspiracy against the state. The first trap of this conspiracy is the blueprint of Jamaat's movement together with Awami League!"
Later, in another post, he wrote, "The information about the secret meeting of Mia Ghulam Parwar and ATM Masum with a high-ranking Indian intelligence officer is one hundred percent true."
