Ultimatum issued to arrest former President Md. Shahabuddin

Inqilab Mancha has set a deadline for the arrest of former President Md. Shahabuddin, who recently resigned from office. The organization demanded that Md. Shahabuddin be arrested by Subh e Sadiq on Saturday.

Shortly after Md. Shahabuddin resigned on Friday afternoon, Inqilab Mancha staged a protest in the Dhaka University area, demanding his arrest. Later, a rally was held in front of Raju Memorial Sculpture, where the organization’s leaders announced the ultimatum.

At the rally, Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Abdullah Al Jaber said, “Resignation alone is not enough. Former President Md. Shahabuddin must be arrested immediately and brought to justice.”

He said, “During the July student public uprising, more than 30,000 of our brothers and sisters were injured, and more than 1,400 brave sons of the nation were martyred. As one of the key accomplices to all these crimes and the genocide committed by the autocrat Sheikh Hasina, this former president is equally guilty. Therefore, he must be arrested immediately and brought to justice.”

He warned, “For this long, we have remained patient in the interest of maintaining peace and order in the country and ensuring that the government could govern without disruption. But if he is not arrested, we will be compelled to launch a tough movement against the government. The government has been given until Subh e Sadiq. Chuppu must be arrested within this time.”
