ACC's goal is 'Character Assassination', Asif Mahmud to take action

Former advisor and spokesperson of the National Citizens Party (NCP), Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, believes that the objective of the Anti-Corruption Commission (Dudok) is not to take action against irregularities, but rather to engage in character assassination. He has also threatened to take steps against such motives.
While explaining the allegations brought against him at a press conference held at the National Press Club today (Wednesday), Asif said, "If Dudok investigates through normal procedures, I will extend my full cooperation."
The NCP leader alleged that Dudok is being used as a political tool for a media trial against him, rather than for a fair investigation.
At the press conference, Asif Mahmud presented the context of the complaints filed against him with Dudok, the relevant administrative processes, the consistency of decision-making, and the factual reality of the statements made by Dudok's spokesperson, all supported by information and documents.
Asif added, "All the allegations brought against me are baseless and false. These allegations are being made because I made many decisions in favor of the people while serving as an advisor."
Asif claimed that Dudok is investigating him regarding transfers and promotions in the BNP era. He elaborated, "Promotions for 135 individuals were made on May 11 of this year. Dudok has started an investigation linking me to this."
