Uncertainty has emerged over the current whereabouts of Gazi Nazrul Islam, the member of parliament from the Satkhira 4 constituency, after videos of his private moments were circulated online. Following his expulsion from the party, even his family has been unable to provide any confirmed information about where he is.
Several family members said Gazi Nazrul has not been in contact with anyone since the videos were made public. They said he has been avoiding even longtime acquaintances and close associates.
One of his relatives, speaking on condition of anonymity, said, “We do not know where Nazrul is now. We tried to find out, but even his family members do not want to say anything about it. We also tried to contact him by phone, but it has been switched off.”
Azizur Rahman, secretary of the district Jamaat-e-Islami, said the party has had no contact with Gazi Nazrul Islam since the incident. However, communication with his family members and relatives is continuing.
He also said, “We do not have any specific information about where Nazrul is currently staying. It is assumed that he is staying somewhere on his own initiative.”
Several videos showing Gazi Nazrul Islam in private moments with a woman were circulated on social media. After the videos were made public, the matter sparked widespread discussion and criticism in political and social circles. He was later expelled from Jamaat on allegations of moral misconduct.
