BNP Govt lacks capacity to handle the crisis: Patwary

"There is no scope to deny the energy crisis in the global market. However, the BNP government lacks the capacity to deal with this crisis, and that has already been proven," said Nasiruddin Patwary, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP).
He said, "From 2001 to 2006, the BNP government presented itself as the patron child of corruption, and now they are introducing themselves as the patron child of syndicates. The government's actions have created panic among the people. Panic is visible on many faces, and many are unable to speak out of fear—because there is a constant fear of when one might be picked up for speaking."
He made these remarks on Monday night during a protest program against the fuel price hike organized by NCP's Dhaka Metropolitan North and South units at Bangla Motor in the capital.
Nasiruddin Patwary said, "The government has formed a special force to pick people up. A force named SRB has been created from RAB. Additionally, terrorist forces have been kept ready in the names of Chhatra Dal, Jubo Dal, and BNP."
Raising a question, he asked, "Don't the brothers of BNP ride in cars? Don't the brothers of Chhatra Dal ride in cars? Yesterday, I saw that a member of Chhatra Dal was served a show-cause notice for protesting against the fuel price hike. This means the government is spreading fear even within its own home."
The NCP leader added, "From what we are observing, the BNP government has proven to be a failure before the people of Bangladesh in this short span of time. We conducted a long march with an eight-point demand, where we stated that there is only one path left for a failed government—and that is the one-point demand."
He warned, "If the government thinks what can an 11-party alliance do to us, they are mistaken. Even if the 11-party alliance does nothing, the public will chase you on the streets. You have kicked the people in their stomachs."
Nasiruddin Patwary added, "Autocrat Sheikh Hasina could not stand against the people, and the patron child of the syndicate, Tarique Rahman, will not be able to stand either."
