Businessman Stabbed in BNP-Jamaat Clash

A businessman was stabbed during a clash between supporters of the BNP and Jamaat in the Fulbaria area of Gulistan in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
The injured man was identified as Kabir Ahmed (45), a mobile phone parts trader.
The incident occurred around 5:30 pm.
Akhtar Hossain, who took the victim to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, told Agamir Somoy that clashes erupted between BNP and Jamaat supporters in front of the BRTC counter in Fulbaria. During the violence, an unidentified assailant stabbed Kabir below the waist before fleeing the scene.
Kabir was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at around 6:00 pm for treatment.
Akhtar claimed that Kabir Ahmed is a supporter of Jamaat.
Md. Faruk, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, said Kabir is receiving treatment in the hospital’s emergency department.
