State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Nurul Haque Nur, has said that 'in the history of our country, the most heinous autocratic government has carried out massacres on its own citizens while relying on other countries. It has destroyed various institutions. Their trial is now the demand of the time.'
He made these remarks while speaking to journalists after an exchange meeting with heads of various government departments at the conference room of the Patuakhali Deputy Commissioner's office this Sunday afternoon.
During the meeting, the State Minister noted that the Home Minister has also said that their trial will be held through the law as quickly as possible. Through this trial, Bangladesh will be freed from fascism. The people and government of Bangladesh want to be free from the burden of history.
Nurul Haque Nur said that he does not think any political party named Awami League will be allowed to do politics in the future, nor will the people accept it.
The exchange meeting was presided over by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Shahid Hossain Chowdhury and was attended by the Civil Surgeon, hospital superintendents, and heads of various departments.
Earlier, he took part in various programs in his own areas—Galachipa and Dashmina upazilas.
