Dhaka invites Tehran's Speaker Ghalibaf to Visit Bangladesh

The Speaker of Bangladesh's Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir Bikram, has formally invited Iran’s Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf to visit Bangladesh. He extended the invitation during a bilateral meeting with Ghalibaf in Tehran on Friday.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad arrived in Tehran on Thursday to attend the state funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He was received at Tehran airport by Iran’s Deputy Speaker Hamid-Reza Haji Babaei.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ghalibaf warmly welcomed the Bangladeshi parliamentary delegation at the outset of the meeting.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad condemned the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader and expressed deep condolences. On behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh, he conveyed sympathy and solidarity with the Iranian government and their people.
He highlighted the centuries-old friendship between Bangladesh and Iran and expressed commitment to further strengthening the deep cultural and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
The Speaker praised Ghalibaf’s constructive role in implementing the recently signed peace memorandum between Iran and the United States. He expressed hope that the agreement would bring lasting peace, stability, and prosperity to Iran and the wider region, adding that Bangladesh would continue to support the peace process.
Emphasizing dialogue and diplomacy as the path to lasting solutions, the Speaker formally invited Ghalibaf to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time to further strengthen parliamentary and bilateral relations.
The meeting was attended by Iran’s Deputy Speaker, members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and officials from the Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran.
