Storms, rain may hit Dhaka, 8 regions

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said rain or thundershowers may hit Dhaka and storm could hit eight regions of the country.
According to the weather forecast for the next six hours starting from 7 am on Monday, the sky over Dhaka may remain partly cloudy to temporary cloudy. Rain or thundershowers may occur. Wind may blow from the south or southeast direction at 10-15 kilometers per hour and day temperature may drop slightly.
At 6 am, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius. The air humidity at that time was 97 percent. The minimum temperature is 26.8 degrees Celsius.
The forecast for the inland river ports of the country from 5 am to 1 pm added that temporary gusty winds with 45-60 kilometers per hour from the south or southeast direction, along with rain or thundershowers, may sweep over Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet regions.
The river ports in these areas have been asked to hoist cautionary signal number 1.
The forecast has advised the Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla, and Payra seaports to hoist cautionary signal number 3. Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay of Bengal have been advised to stay close to the coast and navigate with caution until further notice.
