Agamir Somoy Will Play a Role in the Media Commission: Information Minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan stated that the government is going to form a Media Commission in the country for integrated regulation. A consultative committee will be formed by June to present a draft proposal to the government regarding this matter. The new media outlet, Agamir Somoy, will play a strong role in that Media Commission.

In this day and age, we are currently passing through a volatile period. Publishing a newspaper during such volatile times requires immense courage. This is not the season for launching newspapers. Across the world, print media is on a downward trend. The editor has taken a risk. However, those associated behind the scenes should not look at this as a risk; they should view it as an investment. Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the northern region for the National Citizen Party (NCP), said, "We sincerely expect and want Agamir Somoy to understand the demands of the time. It must understand reality and understand the younger generation.

It needs to comprehend the spirit of the July Uprising. However, though it is sad but true, we are not getting things the way we expect.
