Agamir Somoy Will Play a Role in the Media Commission: Information Minister

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon. Agamir Somoy.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan stated that the government is going to form a Media Commission in the country for integrated regulation. A consultative committee will be formed by June to present a draft proposal to the government regarding this matter. The new media outlet, Agamir Somoy, will play a strong role in that Media Commission.
Official Launch of Agamir Somoy

With the slogan "Sath-e Thakle Hat-e-i Shob" (Everything is in Hand if You are With Us), the official launch of Agamir Somoy took place in the presence of distinguished dignitaries at Hotel Sonargaon Pan Pacific in the City on Tuesday.

Debut of Agamir Somoy in Challenging Times: Manabzamin Editor

The Editor of Manabzamin, Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, stated in his speech, "Speaking the truth is very difficult. Currently, it is hard to distinguish what is true from what is false. Agamir Somoy has made its debut during these challenging times.

The newspaper's editor, Mostafa Mamun, is one of my favorite colleagues. I have reported alongside him in many places at home and abroad, even at the Football World Cup. In this day and age, we are currently passing through a volatile period. Publishing a newspaper during such volatile times requires immense courage. This is not the season for launching newspapers. Across the world, print media is on a downward trend. The editor has taken a risk. However, those associated behind the scenes should not look at this as a risk; they should view it as an investment. I wish Agamir Somoy moves forward with success."
Agamir Somoy Will Understand the Demands of the Time: Sarjis Alam

Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the northern region for the National Citizen Party (NCP), said, "We sincerely expect and want Agamir Somoy to understand the demands of the time. It must understand reality and understand the younger generation.

It needs to comprehend the spirit of the July Uprising. However, though it is sad but true, we are not getting things the way we expect. Instead, the highest level of effort is being made to see how important spaces, starting from media houses, can be partisan. Rising above everything, Agamir Somoy will uphold the future Bangladesh."
Agamir Somoy Has Taken the Challenge Out of a Sense of Responsibility: Saiful Huq

The General Secretary of the Revolutionary Workers Party, Saiful Huq, said, "We know the current time is not favorable for print newspapers. Rather than an investment, they have stepped into this risky venture out of a sense of responsibility and patriotism.

I applaud them. Public expectations are as massive as the Himalayas. Agamir Somoy will stand by the fulfillment of the dream to build a democratic, pluralistic, non-communal, and inclusive Bangladesh."
Editor's Note on Future Challenges

Editor Mustafa Mamun concluded by touching upon the challenges ahead for Agamir Somoy and how it will navigate the path toward meeting public expectations objectively.
