Training begins for 38,000 police personnel ahead of election

A two-day training program for police personnel has begun across the country ahead of the local government elections. A total of 38,847 police personnel who have not received election training are participating in the training at 114 venues across the country.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Ali Hossain Fakir inaugurated the training at the Hall of Integrity at Police Headquarters on Wednesday morning.
Police Headquarters said 4,965 police personnel are participating in the first batch of the training. The training has been organized to enhance their professionalism, skills and capabilities for performing duties during the local government elections.
Earlier, 152,175 police personnel received election training for the 13th national parliamentary election. They will also receive one day of refresher training ahead of the local government elections. The refresher training will begin after the ongoing two-day main training program ends.
