31 crore new textbooks to be distributed in 2027

As part of implementing joyful education, technical education, and life oriented education, 310 million high quality new textbooks will be distributed across the country in January 2027, Education Minister A N M Ehsanul Hoque Milon said.
He also said, “Bangladesh’s history will be presented accurately in the new textbooks, and no distortion of history will be tolerated.”
He made the remarks as the chief guest at a teachers’ gathering and exchange meeting held at the Monoharpur High School grounds in Kachua, Chandpur, on Friday afternoon.
The education minister said, “The joyful education program has already begun. New textbooks are being developed for grades six through eight. The textbooks are being prepared with an emphasis on technical education and life oriented education. In January 2027, 310 million high quality new textbooks will be distributed simultaneously across the country.”
Referring to the content of the textbooks, he said, “Bangladesh’s history will be presented accurately in the new textbooks. No distortion of history will be allowed. History will follow its own course.”
Emphasizing sports and cultural activities for the overall development of students, the minister said, “A dedicated sports team will be formed in every upazila. In addition, regular sports competitions will be organized in all 64 districts and at the five divisional levels across the country.”
He said, “We want students to participate in sports and cultural activities alongside their studies. Sports and family values have been included in the new syllabus.”
The meeting was chaired by Monoharpur High School President Alhaj Khorshed Alam Mannan.
Among the special guests were Chandpur Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Ziaur Rahman, Cumilla Education Board Chairman Prof. Md. Ahsan Parvez, Kachua Upazila BNP President Md. Khairul Abedeen Swapan, and General Secretary Masud Elahi Subhash.
