9 more children die of measles and measles-like symptoms

Nine more children died of measles and measles-like symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours (from 8:00 AM Friday to 8:00 AM Saturday).
Among them, measles was confirmed in three children, while six others exhibited symptoms of the disease. With this, the total death toll has reached 352 children.
During this period, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that 946 more children showed symptoms of measles nationwide. Additionally, measles was confirmed in 489 children in the last 24 hours. This means a total of 1,435 children were affected by measles or its symptoms within the last day.
It has been informed that three children died in Barishal after being diagnosed with measles. Meanwhile, measles-like symptoms claimed three lives in Dhaka, two in Khulna, and one in Sylhet, respectively.
This information was disclosed in the measles report released by the DGHS today (Saturday).
According to the data, 291 children have died from measles-like symptoms in the country since March 15. During the same period, 61 children died after their measles diagnosis was confirmed. This brings the total number of deaths from measles and its symptoms to 352.
DGHS data further indicates that since March 15 of this year, 47,656 children have exhibited symptoms of measles. During this time, 33,631 children were admitted to hospitals with these symptoms. Out of those admitted, 29,746 children have recovered and returned home.
The DGHS also mentioned that measles has been laboratory-confirmed in 6,979 children across the country since March 15.
