Four arrested including two women over alleged pornography production

Four people, including two women, have been arrested in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha on charges of producing pornography. Police said they recorded videos on mobile phones and distributed them on the internet.
Mobile phones and various equipment allegedly used in producing pornographic content were seized during the arrests.
The arrests were made at around 4:30 pm Saturday from the Hirak Para area of Buzruk Boalia in Gobindaganj municipality.
A case has been filed with Gobindaganj Police Station under the Pornography Control Act in connection with the incident.
The arrestees are Mamuni Akter (24), of Middle Ramchandrapur village in Palashbari upazila, Rakibul Hasan Rakib (30), of Abhirampur village in Gobindaganj upazila, Rejena Khatun Sathi (28), of Nishchintapur village in Sadullapur upazila, and Mamunur Rashid (30), of Chandipur village in Sundarganj upazila.
Officer in Charge of Gobindaganj Police Station Mozammel Haque confirmed the information to Agamir Somoy.
He said, “The arrestees, along with a gang, had been renting a room in the Gobindaganj municipal area for a long time and carrying out such immoral and criminal activities there. Later, four members of the pornography production gang were arrested. They have been sent to Gaibandha Jail through the court.”
