Islami Chhatrashibir has decided to expel its central assistant international secretary Jisan Ahmed Prodhan following the filing of a case against him on charges of rape and causing a miscarriage.
Chhatrashibir’s Central Publicity Secretary and DUCSU General Secretary (GS) S M Farhad shared this information.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, Farhad said, “From the time the police rescued Jisan last night until 1:30 pm, the administration has not allowed any delegation from Chhatrashibir or members of Jisan’s family to speak with him.
“Jisan remains in police custody. Consequently, we have not had the opportunity to hear his detailed statement regarding the disappearance. As a result, we currently have no second source other than the police statement regarding the matter of his disappearance or abduction.”
Highlighting the statement from the family of Liza Akter, the woman who filed the case against Jisan, Farhad wrote, “The elder sister of Liza, who filed the case against Jisan, said that 15-20 police or administration officials took Liza from their home. At that time, other family members were not allowed to accompany her.”
Farhad added, “According to the latest information, Liza and her father are still being held in police custody, and no communication can be established with them. Liza’s elder sister, Sabikunnahar, stated that she is not aware of any details regarding the police taking her from home, the process of filing the case, or the current situation.
“However, she mentioned that she was already aware of the relationship between Jisan and Liza.”
Farhad said, “As we have not been able to communicate with any of them, we have not yet been able to uncover the truth of the disappearance. However, since a relationship has been preliminarily proven, the decision has been made to expel him in accordance with organisational rules. At the same time, if any crime is proven, all types of legal assistance will be provided to the victim.”
