Newspapers to remain closed on Aug. 5

The Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh has declared a holiday for newspaper offices on Wednesday, Aug. 5, marking July Mass Uprising Day. The announcement was made on Monday through a notice signed by NOAB President Matiur Rahman Chowdhury.

The notice said, “In accordance with the decision of the Executive Committee, this directive regarding the holiday has been issued for the information of all NOAB member organizations. However, during this holiday, NOAB members will be able to publish newspapers under special arrangements.”
