Government Announces Seven-Day Eid Holiday

The Ministry of Public Administration has issued a gazette notification declaring a seven-day consecutive holiday on the occasion of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha. The notification states that the holidays will be in effect from May 25 to May 31.
The notification was issued on Thursday.
It states that all government, semi-government, autonomous, semi-autonomous, and private offices across the country will remain closed from May 25 (Monday) to May 31 (Sunday). Offices will, however, remain open on May 23 and May 24 (Saturday and Sunday).
The Bangladesh Bank will issue necessary directives regarding banking operations, while the Supreme Court will provide instructions on court activities, the notification said.
It further stated that the Ministry of Labour and Employment will issue necessary directives under the Bangladesh Labour Act, 2006, regarding general holidays for private sector industries, factories, and establishments.
