BNP nominates JCD Leader Mansura for 'reserved seat'

The BNP has finalized its candidate list for the reserved women's seats in the 13th National Parliament. On Monday, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, announced the names of the candidates at the party's central office in Nayapaltan, Dhaka.
Among those selected is Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) leader Mansura Alam. Immediately following the announcement, she posted on her Facebook profile, "All praise is due to Almighty Allah."
Mansura Akter serves as the Vice President of the central JCD committee and was a student of the 2012-13 session at the Law Department of University of Dhaka (DU).
During her time at Dhaka University, she was greatly engaged in JCD politics on the campus. She played an active role during the student movements of 2024-2025. During the July 2024 movement, she was notable for standing by students who were severely injured.
In 2022, she made headlines by filing a case against Chhatra League members following an attack on JCD program on the DU campus.
