Tarique meets Iran’s president on UNGA sidelines

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman held a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

PM’s Adviser Mahdi Amin confirmed the matter at a press conference organized in the lobby of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York on Wednesday evening local time. He said Tarique held a meeting with Pezeshkian and Tarique discussed strategies with Pezeshkian regarding the maintenance of regional stability, reports Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Mahdi added, “How the security of our expatriate workers who are in the Middle East can be ensured was also discussed.”

Pezeshkian attended the UNGA session amid the ongoing war with the US, where he also held meetings with leaders of various countries. However, IRNA did not disclose the specific details of what was discussed between Tarique and Masoud.
