The administration has taken extensive security measures in Gopalganj to prevent any untoward incident and maintain the overall law and order situation in the district. Along with district police, five platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and members of other law enforcement agencies have been deployed to strengthen security in key areas of the town.
Additional police have been deployed on important roads, intersections, government facilities and public gathering places across the district. Intelligence surveillance has also been increased, while round the clock patrols are being conducted. Law enforcement agencies are on maximum alert to deal with any situation.
District Commissioner Md. Arif Uz Zaman confirmed the deployment of BGB and other law enforcement agencies to maintain the law and order situation in the district, saying, “Various programs have been taken to observe July Mass Uprising Day on August 5 tomorrow. Various measures have been taken to ensure that these programs can be completed peacefully.”
The DC said BGB personnel will remain deployed until August 15 to ensure that there is no deterioration in the overall law and order situation in the district.
