At least seven Riyadh-bound flights from Dhaka have been canceled following the attack on King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

Kawsar Mahmud, Assistant Director of the Public Relations Department at the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), informed the media of the flight cancellations as of 1:30 PM today.

The airlines whose flights were canceled have advised passengers not to proceed to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. They also said that revised flight schedules will be communicated after reviewing the situation.

Earlier on Saturday, two Saudi-bound flights operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines from Dhaka were canceled. With those, a total of seven flight cancellations have been reported up to 1:30 PM today.

Saturday's attack on the Riyadh airport resulted in the deaths of 12 people, including two Bangladeshis, while over 300 others were injured.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh has condemned the attack on the Riyadh airport. The condemnation was issued in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning.

According to the statement, Bangladesh strongly and unequivocally condemns the deadly Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The attack caused casualties, including the tragic deaths of two Bangladeshi nationals and injuries to many others, several of whom are in critical condition.

The statement also mentioned that the Bangladesh Mission in Riyadh is maintaining close contact with Saudi authorities to gather detailed information regarding the deceased and injured Bangladeshis, as well as to extend necessary support to those affected.

In the wake of this attack, Bangladesh reaffirmed its firm solidarity with the Government and the brotherly people of Saudi Arabia.

Recently, the Saudi-backed Yemeni government has intensified its strikes against the Houthis. The Iran-backed group controls key regions of Yemen, including its capital, Sanaa. Amid escalating tensions, the Houthis have been regularly launching drone and missile attacks targeting critical Saudi infrastructure, including airports and oil facilities.
