Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said with planning and goodwill, it is possible to build any area as beautiful, clean, and environmentally friendly for the welfare of the people and the transformation in Dhaka’s Aminbazar over the past two months is a major example of this.
He added, “Locals must take responsibility to maintain the beauty of the environment. Alongside government initiatives, if there is cooperation from locals, problems of environmental pollution and waste management will gradually be solved.”
Tarique made these remarks on Sunday afternoon after inaugurating a greening and beautification program by planting tree saplings along the roadside at Aminbazar on the Dhaka-Aricha Highway.
The prime minister noted, “From the condition the Aminbazar area was in nearly two months ago, a significant change has come about there at present. While this has rendered the area visually pleasing, it has also created an opportunity for nearby people to breathe in a relatively better environment.
“If these initiatives are implemented in a planned manner, the beauty of Aminbazar and its surrounding areas will increase. At the same time, by reducing environmental pollution, it will be possible to ensure a clean and healthy environment for local people.”
Tarique also called upon everyone to work together so that people can breathe deeply in a fresh environment and enjoy the beauty of nature.
