Prime Minister: Will no longer allow toying with the fate of people

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman speaks at a rally in Trishal of Mymensingh. Agamir Somoy.
A section of people wants anarchy in the country. They have re-established contact with the forces who were ousted after August 5th. This allegation has been made by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He said that some people want to obstruct development by blocking roads.
The head of the government inaugurated the re-excavation work of the 'Dharar Canal' in Trishal, Mymensingh, on Saturday afternoon. He made these remarks at a rally there.
The Prime Minister said the government wants to establish the rule of law. He added that "Some people are trying to create a murky situation over the Ramisa murder case. Those whom I did not hear speaking during the interim government's time are now raising their voices. They have secretly built ties and are communicating with those ousted after August 5th."
The Prime Minister pointed out that some people are conspiring to derail the BNP's plans. He said, "If an anarchic situation is created, the government's people-oriented programs will be hindered, and ordinary people will suffer. Therefore, the public must remain vigilant against those who want to create anarchy. Also against those who are obstructing and confusing proper justice. We will no longer allow gambling with the fate of the people."
"The BNP's goal was to excavate canals if they formed the government. I had said that if elected, we would hand out family cards to our mothers. We have provided that," the Prime Minister added.
Earlier, the BNP Chairman inaugurated the re-excavation work of the 'Dharar Canal' in Trishal by cutting the soil himself around 2:30 PM. Tarek Rahman's father, the martyred President Ziaur Rahman, had excavated this canal 47 years ago.
