5 More Children Die in a Single Day from Measles and Related Symptoms

In the past 24 hours, 5 more children have died across the country from measles and measles-like symptoms. During this period, 877 children were affected by measles and its symptoms.
This information was revealed in the latest update on the measles situation released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday (May 28) afternoon. The data accounts for the period from 8:00 AM on Wednesday (May 27) to 8:00 AM on Thursday (May 28).
According to the press release, while 5 children died with symptoms of measles in the last 24 hours, no child died from definitively confirmed cases of measles during this timeframe.
With these latest figures, a total of 477 children have died across the country with measles symptoms since March 15. Additionally, another 88 children have lost their lives from confirmed measles infections. This brings the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms to 565 during this period.
Furthermore, 51 children were diagnosed with measles in the last 24 hours, while the number of patients with measles-related symptoms stood at 826. During this time, 725 children were newly admitted to hospitals, and 1,023 children were discharged.
