7 die of dengue in a day, record 2,249 hospitalized

In the last 24 hours, 2,249 people have been hospitalized with dengue infection or symptoms across the country. This is the highest number of hospitalizations in a single day so far this year. During the same period, 7 people died of dengue across the country.

This information was provided via a notice posted by the Directorate General of Health Services, on Sunday.

It said that in the last 24 hours, a total of 4 people died of dengue in Dhaka North City and Mymensingh Division, and 1 person each in Dhaka South, Khulna Division, and Rajshahi Division.

According to DGHS data, a total of 384 people have died of dengue in the country from January to date this year. This year, 123,948 people have been hospitalized with dengue infection.

Earlier, 2,193 people were hospitalized with dengue on October 11, 2,167 on October 12, 2,158 on September 27, and 2,088 on October 18.

This year, the highest 10 deaths in a single day from dengue occurred on October 6 and 15.
