Three More Die with Measles Symptoms

In the last 24 hours, three more people have died in the country displaying symptoms of measles. During this period, no one died from confirmed measles infection. Additionally, 1,032 people have been hospitalized with measles-like symptoms.
This information was provided in a press release posted by the control room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Saturday (June 6).
The DGHS said that between 8:00 AM on Friday and 8:00 AM on Saturday, two children died in Dhaka and one child died in Sylhet.
According to DGHS data, from March 15 of this year until now, 522 children have died nationwide displaying measles symptoms. During the same period, another 91 children died after being diagnosed with confirmed measles. As a result, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms has reached 613.
The report further stated that from March 15 to date, 77,791 children have exhibited measles symptoms across the country. Among them, 63,134 have been hospitalized. However, after receiving treatment, 58,964 children have recovered and returned home.
