Four more die of measles and symptoms, 917 new cases

Four children died across the country from measles and measles symptoms in the past 24 hours from 8:00 am Friday to 8:00 am Saturday. During this period, 917 children developed measles and measles symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services disclosed the information in a press release on Saturday, 5 September.
According to the release, the total number of deaths from measles and measles symptoms in the country this year has risen to 991. In the past 24 hours, 917 people were affected by measles and its symptoms. Four deaths were reported during the same period. Of the total deaths, 100 were confirmed measles deaths while 891 were deaths involving measles symptoms.
In addition, 843 people were suspected of having measles in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of suspected infections to 163,105.
According to Directorate General of Health Services data, from March 15 to date, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 163,105 while the number of confirmed measles cases stands at 19,641. A total of 143,214 patients have been admitted to hospitals. Of them, 137,921 have already been discharged and returned home.
