Five more children die with measles symptoms

Five more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, from 8 am Sunday to 8 am Monday. During this period, 1,155 children were affected by measles and measles symptoms.
The Directorate General of Health Services provided the information in its updated measles report on Monday.
The report said 992 patients with measles symptoms were identified in the past 24 hours, while the total number of measles patients from March 15 to August 10 stood at 137,312.
In the past 24 hours, 163 confirmed measles cases were reported. From March 15 to August 10, the total number of confirmed measles cases stood at 17,278.
From March 15 to August 10, a total of 119,322 people with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 116,139 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
Across the country, five people died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, while a total of 780 children have died with measles symptoms from March 15 to August 10.
The Directorate General of Health Services further said in its updated measles report that no one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. From March 15 to August 10, a total of 98 people died from confirmed measles.
