Three More Children Die With Measles Symptoms

Three more children died with measles-like symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, from 8 pm Tuesday to 8 am Wednesday, while 1,089 new cases of measles and related symptoms were reported during the same period.
The information was released Wednesday in the Directorate General of Health Services' regular measles situation report.
According to the report, the three children died with symptoms consistent with measles, although no deaths from laboratory-confirmed measles were recorded in the past 24 hours.
Since March 15, a total of 596 children have died with measles-like symptoms nationwide. Another 93 children have died after being confirmed as measles patients.
In total, 689 children have died either from confirmed measles infections or from illnesses presenting measles-related symptoms during the period.
