51st BCS notification published to recruit 5,000 physicians

A notification for the 51st Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination has been published to recruit 5,000 physicians into the Bangladesh Civil Service (Health) cadre. Under this recruitment drive, 4,700 assistant surgeons and 300 assistant dental surgeons will be appointed.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) announced this information in a notice released today, Thursday.
To apply for the assistant surgeon post, candidates must hold an MBBS or equivalent degree, while applicants for the assistant dental surgeon post must possess a BDS or equivalent degree.
The notification also mentioned that the number of advertised vacant positions may change due to the creation of new posts, abolition of posts, promotions, retirements, deaths, resignations, or removals.
If a candidate claims an overseas degree to be equivalent to the educational qualifications required for the health cadre posts, they must submit an attested copy of the equivalence certificate issued by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) during the viva voce. The original certificate must also be presented to the viva board.
Furthermore, candidates who have appeared in MBBS/equivalent or BDS/equivalent examinations but whose results have not yet been published by the deadline for online application can still apply conditionally. However, in cases where degrees are earned through written examinations, all relevant written exams must be completed by October 25 of this year. Candidates who fail to acquire their degrees within the stipulated timeframe will have their candidacies canceled.
