Measles death toll surpasses 1,000

Three more children died from measles and measles symptoms in the last 24 hours from 8:00 am Tuesday to 8:00 am Wednesday. With this, the total number of measles deaths in the country this year has reached 1,002.

The Directorate General of Health Services said this in a press release sent by its control room on Wednesday.

According to the release, 1,119 patients with measles symptoms were identified in the last 24 hours. From March 15 to September 9, the total number of measles patients reached 167,580.

During this period, 69 confirmed measles cases were reported. From March 15 to September 9, the total number of confirmed measles cases reached 19,904.

From March 15 to September 9, a total of 147,393 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 141,819 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.

Three people died from measles symptoms during this period. From March 15 to September 9, a total of 902 children have died from measles symptoms.
