Measles-Related Deaths Rise to 560

Five more children have died from measles like symptoms in the last 24 hours, from 8 am Tuesday to 8 am Wednesday, bringing the total number of deaths to 560. No confirmed measles-related deaths were reported during this period.
The information was disclosed in a health bulletin issued on Wednesday by the Directorate General of Health Services’ Integrated Control Room.
According to the DGHS, confirmed measles deaths now stand at 88, while 472 people have died with measles symptoms. During the same period, 62 confirmed infections were detected. So far, 8,834 children have been confirmed as infected with measles. In the last 24 hours, 1,056 new suspected measles cases were identified in the country.
Since March 15, the total number of suspected measles cases has risen to 67,079.
