One more child dies with measles symptoms, death toll rises to 1,205

Another child died with measles symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours. With this, the total number of deaths from confirmed and suspected measles reached 1,205 between March 15 and October 21.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in a press release sent by its control room on Wednesday.

According to the press release, 997 suspected measles cases were identified in a single day. This brings the total number of suspected cases since March 15 to 216,765. During the same period, 13 new measles cases were confirmed, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 23,212.

According to DGHS data, a total of 192,695 people with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals since March 15. Of them, 185,110 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

Including the one death reported in the past 24 hours, the total number of deaths among suspected measles patients has reached 1,101. Meanwhile, 104 people have died from confirmed measles since March 15.
