Measles, related symptoms claim 17 more lives

Across the country, 17 more people have died from measles and measles-like symptoms in the past 24 hours (from 8:00 am Sunday to 8:00 am Monday). During the same period, 1,224 new cases were reported.
This information was disclosed in the latest report released by the Directorate General of Health Services on Monday.
The health directorate said on Sunday that from March 15 to Sunday, a total of 442 people have died from suspected measles and 86 from confirmed measles. During this period, 50,558 people across the country were hospitalized with suspected measles. Of them, 46,214 have so far recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
Since March 15 this year, measles-like symptoms have been reported in 63,813 children nationwide. So far, 8,622 people have been confirmed to be infected with measles.
