Four more die with measles symptoms

Four more people died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours. Among the deceased, two were from Dhaka Division and two from Sylhet Division. During the same period, 1,049 new cases of measles and measles-like symptoms were reported.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information in its regular measles report on Saturday.

According to DGHS data, the total number of deaths from measles and measles-like symptoms since March 15 has risen to 1,280. Of them, 105 deaths were confirmed as measles-related while 1,175 people died with measles-like symptoms.

The report also said that 988 people showed measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. This brings the total number of suspected infections to 237,702.

In addition, 61 new confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed measles infections in the country to 24,355.
