USA provides $2.4 million in medical equipment to Bangladesh's health sector

The United States is providing modern medical equipment and supplies worth $2.4 million (29 crore 32 lakh 80 thousand taka) to further improve and strengthen maternal, newborn, and child health services in Bangladesh.
On Monday morning, during a visit to the Panchagarh District Sadar Hospital, Ambassador Brent T. Christensen handed over the healthcare training models to Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman.
The US assistance includes equipment to keep newborns warm, respiratory support devices, therapeutic food for children suffering from severe acute malnutrition, and supplies to maintain vaccine effectiveness.
Funded by the United States, these equipment and supplies are being delivered to hospitals and health centers across the country, including hard-to-reach areas, through FHI 360, Jhpiego, JSI, and UNICEF.
This assistance supports the implementation of the 'America First Global Health Strategy,' aimed at strengthening the health system through practical partnerships and advancing US health sector innovations.
The United States is committed to working with the Government of Bangladesh to expand access to quality healthcare across the country.
Earlier, he visited the Banglabandha land port. Later, he exchanged views with Barrister Muhammad Nawshad Jamir, Member of Parliament for Panchagarh-1 constituency, at the Panchagarh Circuit House.
