5 more children die of measles symptoms

Five more children have died with measles symptoms in the country over the past 24 hours. During this period, 1,069 children were affected by measles or exhibited symptoms of the disease.
This information was released today, Monday, in the latest measles report published by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the DGHS, three children died from measles symptoms in the Sylhet division alone within the last 24 hours. Additionally, two more children died during this time—one each in the Dhaka and Chittagong divisions, respectively.
With these latest cases, the total death toll from measles and its symptoms across the country has reached 793 since March 15. Among them, 698 died from measles symptoms, while 95 died after being laboratory-confirmed with the disease.
Meanwhile, 147 new cases of measles were officially detected nationwide in the last 24 hours. Alongside this, another 922 individuals exhibited symptoms of the disease during the same period.
This brings the cumulative total of individuals showing symptoms of measles to 118,570 since March 15. Furthermore, a total of 14,578 cases have been laboratory-confirmed as measles during this period.
