Five more people die from dengue fever across country

Five more people have died from dengue fever across the country in the last 24 hours, from 8:00 am on Saturday to 8:00 am on Sunday. With this, the total number of deaths from dengue this year has reached 82. During this period, 28,929 patients were admitted to hospitals with dengue infections.

The information was provided in a press release posted by the Directorate General of Health Services.

According to the press release, among those who have died from dengue this year, 48 are women and 33 are men. However, based on the figures given, there is a discrepancy between the total number of deaths (82) and the combined count of men and women.

According to divisional statistics, the highest number of deaths occurred in Dhaka division, with 39 fatalities. Khulna division recorded 16 deaths, Mymensingh 8, Chattogram 5, Barishal 4, Rangpur 1, and Sylhet 1.

Among the patients admitted to hospitals with dengue this year, 17,908 are male and 11,015 are female.
