Five more children die with measles symptoms

Five more children have died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, from 8 pm Thursday to 8 am Friday  . In addition, 1,137 more children have newly developed measles and related symptoms during the same period.

The information was released in the Directorate General of Health Services’ regular measles report on Friday, July 24.

It said, “In the past 24 hours, the number of suspected measles patients was 950, and from March 15 to July 24, the total number of suspected measles patients was 122,150.”

“In the past 24 hours, the number of confirmed measles patients was 187, and from March 15 to July 24, the total number of confirmed measles patients was 15,194. So far, 104,717 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized. During the same period, 101,056 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.”

“In the past 24 hours, five people died from suspected measles, and from March 15 to July 24, a total of 715 children have died from suspected measles.”
