Four more children die with measles symptoms

Four more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours , from 8 pm Thursday to 8 am Wednesday. During this period, 1,018 children were infected with measles or developed measles symptoms. No child died from confirmed measles during this period.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported the information in its measles report released Wednesday afternoon.
According to the DGHS statement, four more children died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. Since March 15, a total of 823 children have died nationwide with measles symptoms. Another 99 children have died after contracting measles. This means a total of 922 children have died from measles and measles symptoms during this period.
According to DGHS data, 87 children contracted measles in the past 24 hours, while 931 patients developed measles symptoms. During this period, 787 children were newly admitted to hospitals, while 925 children were discharged.
From March 15 through today, the total number of suspected measles cases has reached 145,711. The statement said 18,076 cases have been confirmed as measles.
