Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights from Dhaka to Dammam and Riyadh until October 18 (as per Bangladesh time and date).
The decision was made in the interest of passengers' safety following Houthi attacks on various Saudi Arabia establishment. Biman Bangladesh Airlines notified this in a press release, on Thursday.
The press release said updated information regarding the next decision and travel schedule for the suspended flights will be provided in due time by the Biman Bangladesh Airlines authorities.
However, Biman said that in case of emergency needs, travel to Saudi Arabia and return to Bangladesh can be made using Jeddah and Madinah international airports.
The organization said that considering passenger demand, Boeing 777 aircraft have been added on the Madinah route instead of Boeing 787 aircraft. As a result, 148 seats have been increased per flight. At the same time, arrangements have been made to operate three additional flights on the Jeddah route.
The press release requested passengers to contact the nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales center for tickets and necessary travel information.
